Improved Workflow
We re-worked the layout modes to ease and speed your workflow. Posterino now
features an "Automatic" layout mode, where graphic objects are automatically
placed by the app, and a "Manual" layout mode where graphic objects are placed
by the user.
Adding, removing or creating image objects now results in an instant re-layout
of your document in "Automatic" layout mode.
You can now change the placement of graphic objects by simply dragging it on
top or between other graphic objects. The layout will be adjusted automatically.
You can now specify the number of new image objects to create. The current
layout is instantly adjusted to make room for the new image(s).
With the redesigned crop editor, you just double click on an image and a nice
crop editor pops up from which you can size, move and rotate your image. This is
greatly improves the user experience over the previous model. Also, the crop is
preserved when the frame of the image changes. The new crop editor also supports
keyboard shortcuts and trackpad gestures.
The text editing experience has been streamlined.
You can now easily change the major properties of a "Calendar", "Metadata" or
"Postmark" layer by double clicking it to open a popup inspector right on the
image in question.
By popular request, we improved the algorithm that randomly fills your document
with images. When all image frames are filled, selecting "Fill at Random" again
will present a new set of random images. This function also works on a
document’s sub-set of images that have been defined by the current selection.
The result: you can easily play with different variations of the same document.
We added and improved various keyboard shortcuts to speed the process for Pro
users.
Layout Behavior
As requested by many users, you can now explicitly set the number of rows and
columns for a "Grid" layout.
An improved "Irregular" layout now respects the aspect ratio of each individual
image of your document.
The "Random" layout better distributes images along with some nice new layout
properties which control the "randomness" of the layout.
We added a new "Circular" layout that is especially lovely for portrait images.
You can control the direction of the layout and the spacing between the images.
A new "Grid Lines" layout, aids with the manual placement of images on a grid
of magnetic lines.
Styles
We significantly eased the way you apply a look to your images by introducing a
concept we call "Style". A style represents the overall look of the majority of
your document’s images. Newly created images will now automatically look like
the other images of your document.
We added handy commands like: You can align the style of all images to the
style of an individual image you selected. Or you can copy and paste styles.
The bottom line: you can now change the look of your document quickly and
easily.
Content
The image frames now support an oval shaped look as well as partially rounded
corners.
Also by popular request: You can add custom text captions of various shapes and
styles to your images.
It’s now easier to add image backgrounds to your document.
We improved the way postmarks work. They are no longer applied on export.
Instead, we moved them to the document editor so you can add and remove a
postmark via the context menu of a postage stamp object. Also, postmarks are
added automatically to newly created postage stamp objects. And - by your
request - you can change the date of the postmark by double clicking it.
We’ve also introduced new and improved templates, frames, filters, decorations
and backgrounds.
Image Browser
Enjoy support for the latest version of iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom.
By popular request: The image browser now adds a badge to every image used in
the document. You can see at a glance which images are currently in use and
which are not.
You can filter the browser content for badged or un-badged images.
Since Posterino is now
sandboxed
, you need to explicitly grant Posterino access to any images located outside
your Pictures folder. To simplify workflow, we added a new "Folders" preference
where you can grant Posterino access to all of your image folders.
